For better living, an understanding of the twelve principles of life is
imperative for all people in human society. These twelve principles of
life are the essence of the Vedas. They are the core and goal of all
religions in the world. The important sciences of politics and economics
also have their roots in these twelve principles. Human miseries and
problems are increasing day by day in our society only because of
ignorance of these principles. The time has now come for all people
to understand these principles and to follow them in their lives.
Leaders and public officials all over the world are stressing the
need to provide universal education. If these twelve principles are
taught to youngsters properly, by methods suitable to their respective
age groups and levels of understanding, the purpose of education will
be achieved. This in itself will be a real spiritual education.
Philosophers, scientists, jurists, educators and administrators-should equally take on the responsibility for developing and spreading spiritual
education among all mankind. All governments, religious institutions
and philanthropic organizations should cooperate by providing the
required financial support.
Different sciences have been developed to impressive proportions.
Material prosperity is abundant. But, spiritual development is lacking
and is sorely needed by mankind.
I hope this suggestion of mine for spiritual education will touch the
conscience of all brothers and sisters of the world who are social-
minded and spiritually developed.
