Asana: Extended angle Pose – Uthitta Parsvakonasana
Brief alignment: Come to the top of the mat. Step the right foot back and spin it in. Open the front foot out so the front heel lines up with the back arch. Bend the front knee. Rotate the hips out as you stack the knee over the ankle. Extend the right arm along side of the body and over the head and twist your torso to the sky.
Benefits: Strengthens the legs, stretches the sides of the waist, opens the hips, brings a sense of grounding and stability.
Contraindications: Knee injury
